Merry Christmas from Joy and Steve |
|
One of the big attractions for us in moving to Ponte Vedra Beach is being close to St. Augustine. This town has events going on every weekend as well as wonderful shops to visit and sights to see. So, on Saturday, 12/16, we took a break from getting our new house in order to take in some of their holiday festivities. We began our evening with a lovely sunset drive south on A1A to St. Augustine and stopped first at the Columbia Restaurant for dinner. The food and atmosphere were wonderful. After dinner we walked down St. George's Street to the town plaza to catch the Christmas caroling. The singing was led by a group dressed in 18th century clothes who shared with us some of the history of the carols we sang. The singing and festive lighting filled the air and our hearts with the spirit of Christmas. We finished the evening by walking along the river front to see the lights and others enjoying the season. On the drive home we played Christmas carols, saw beautifully decorated homes and felt grateful for our many blessings. We wish you may blessings this Christmas and a wonderful New Year. |
